What do I do now that I’m at the gym?
When I go to the gym I like to keep it simple. Simplicity is sexy! My workouts consists of a warmup, workout and stretch. My warmup is usually on the treadmill for a run about 15 minutes, just enough to get a good sweat going! Workouts vary depending on what area I want to work on. Regardless, I do circuit training with whatever I’m working on. I get bored when I have to have a rest time after each exercise, I want to get in and out. One day I may focus on back but still do legs and abs. Another day I might focus on shoulders but still include a couple exercises for core or agility. Think of it this way, I do a lower body, upper body and abs or cardio every circuit. This keeps my heart rate up, keeps me busy and gets me done quick!
I hardly ever use machines, not because I don’t like them but because they weren’t made for a 5’2, 115 lbs women. I also believe that I have 115 lbs that I can use towards the weight being lifted.
If you want to make your exercises harder without raising the weight, try the exercise on one foot or one arm. If thats still too easy, try closing your eyes while on one foot. You’ll be shocked to see how much we use our eyes during our workouts.
Working out can be challenging in itself, if you don’t know what you’re doing it can be double as challenging. If you have never picked up a weight then you may want to seek help. If you do exercises incorrectly, you might be doing more damage then good. Seek for guidance or attend one of my bootycamp classes, you’ll learn how to workout with weights as well as plenty of exercises that you can do in home or at the gym. Interested in a class, check the schedule for class times and days!! See you soon!
