Just because its “cold”….

Healthy living doesn’t stop because the temperature changes. In San Diego, we don’t get snow and hardly ever get rain. As it gets colder it’s easier to say no to working out because “its cold outside”. Don’t let this be YOUR excuse!!! Below are some helpful tips for your workouts outside!!!

1. LAYER UP: When you first start your workout be sure to have layers on. I suggest having a light windbreaker so that you are still able to move freely. Also you’ll want to have something to put on after your workout, so you’re body doesn’t go into shock when you complete your workout all sweaty in the cold.

2. STRETCH: Warmup with a brisk walk to get your blood flowing, then be sure to do some dynamic stretching. You don’t want to pull a muscle.

3. HYDRATE: Despite the cold weather, you’ll still heat up and lose fluids through sweat. Drink plenty of water before, during and after.

NO excuses, get outside, go to class and don’t let a little cold weather get the best of you! Taking care of yourself requires 365 days of work and focus! See you at the finish line!!
